Pls can there be a bit more space between the smilies.
Also why doesn’t it automatically resize a picture? I can’t take a photo on th site, have to take a photo, screen shot it and then upload. Sometimes even then it’s too large wth.

Just bang the phone on the table. Maybe that will get it to resize the pic. :)

I don't know what you mean by the picture thing. You should relearn the shortcuts to your favourite smilies.

I've administrated more sites than I can remember over the years, and I can tell you the 1 MB limit here is very generous. Many sites have a limit roughly 1/4 that.

Images uploaded as attachments are stored on the server, and so there needs to be a reasonable limit put on attachment filesizes, otherwise the server can potentially become filled.

What I would recommend is using an image editor to resize your images. Some editors will even allow you to decrease the quality of the image, which is barely noticeable, without reducing the size of the image. You may also be able to tweak your phone's settings to take lower quality images that result in a file already below the limit, If your phone's camera takes high resolution pics, then the image files are going to be large, and you may be able to decrease the resolution.

Some forum software can resize images at the time their being uploaded (I don't know if XenForo can do that), but I've always instructed users to resize them on their own before uploading. That's much less server intensive. :)
