When I was little, I read all the Pinkeltje books, although I suppose at first I had read them to me.

When I was a little older, I read all the books about Lotje, whose father was a vet at a zoo.

By the way, if you think these books look old fashioned; you're right. They're my aunt's, who still has them from when she was little.

As per the titular question, I read the Berenstain Bears, lol. :) And did you know that after reading around more than 30 of them, I found out that they were actually called the Berenstain books when I had thought all along that they were called the Bernstein Bears, lol. :)

I was an avid reader as a child, but one author that stands out is Lester Del Rey. Two of my favorites of his were "The Runaway Robot" and "Tunnel Through Time"...these helped me graduate to classical science fiction like Wells and Verne.

    Goosebumps!
And before that Dr Seuss, the bsc, animorphs and random kids ghost stories etc, up until age 11 and then switched to more adult books.
I think I picked up my first HP book when I was 13 :)

My mom bought Charlie and the chocolate factory for me one day when I was sick. I remember reading it in bed.

Yeah we'd all read it together as a family before bed, such a good book.
