Lol, so basically Jesus is real if you brainwashed yourself into believing he is real.

 

Without time travel, there’s no way to prove it. Of course, were we to find time travel means the church would try to stop it because it would be blasphemy to them - clearly because we’d go back and find out it’s all lies

 

Just like you brainwash yourself into thinking that what you've been told about science is real. That evolution is how different species came about. That Relativity is how the universe works. If mean, did you go and investigate it for yourself? And in order to do so, you would need the time, resources and expertise to do so and not that many people have all three, so you just have to take others' word for it, just like religion followers take the word of religious leaders

That's a mischaracterization of it. The source is the Bible for Christians, which can be seen as flawed. The source for scientists is perception. Both use rationalism and what others tell them.

 

Perception can be seen as flawed, too.

And if you want to put it another way, I'm practicing skepticism. I'm skeptical about the Bible being factual and about one's observations being factual.

Science isn’t telling you what’s real, it’s the process of trying to disprove ideas and theories - things that have been promoted to “scientific theory” are the things that have held up under intense scrutiny and failed attempts to disprove them.

Unfortunately most of what’s in the bible can’t be proven to be true, some of it can be disproven, but none of it is substantiated

 

@Squire72 I'm talking what you take as the source of how you prove something or disprove something. That thing is observation which can be seen as flawed, just like the Bible can be seen as flawed. I think that you take observation as a given as much as Christians take the Bible as a given because you don't seem to question it, which is what the topic is about.
