The guy is an asshole. He bought up all the buildings and jacked everyone’s rent so they’d close so he can do the redevelopment. I hope he goes bankrupt

I met a piercing store owner, guy was a super cool dude, his shop was open for like 3 months when asshat bought it, his rent went from 2200 a month to 8800, he had no choice but to close

The strip across from Mount Royal village a couple places, Fair’s Fair books on 17th and 14th, waves coffee on 17th and 4th got knocked down, the entire strip with the Ship and Anchor is part of what he bought, so who knows there.

I liked the Ship & Anchor, not as much as I liked Ceili's Irish pub in Penny lane, but at least Last Best Brewing and Distilling is still open on 11th ave and 5th st

Ceili's was in the same building as Cowboys, but I don't like country music and Ceili's had a rooftop bar.

One of my best friends is a brewer at Last Best.

I think the ship will survive, and apparently they’re keeping Local open during renovations to that building

Ceili’s is still open, they just moved - not nearly as cool a spot sadly. Penny Lane was definitely a loss
