so I went to A&W yesterday to try the new “beyond meat” burger, have a few takes 1. Don’t get the cheese. It’s slimy and not good at all. Pretty sure it’s faux cheese of the vegan variety, which is improved over the last one I tasted, but for the price it’s not worth it (almost $2 for one slice of icky goo) 2. The patty could pass for meat, but not good meat - slightly better than cattle feed quality meat maybe. Still, it’s vegan meat, so people who crave meat but don’t eat it, decent option 3. It’s nowhere near as good as their actual burgers, so save a couple bucks and get the real thing if you eat meat. The mayo and other sauce aren’t vegan, so vegans should order it without. And realize they cook it on the same grill as meat/eggs 4. The only reason to order one of these is if you’re vegetarian. Unless you’re not a fan of flavour. In which case, feel free to throw away a couple extra bucks.
