Sedatives can go both ways. We gave our cat a sedative before flying. He was calm until the plane took off. Its almost like his adrenaline mixed with the sedative made it worse. He was shaking in his cat carrier. We had to hold him down or else he would have escaped.

I've never brought my dog on a plane before, am I allowed to go to the cargo area to check on her?
She's basically the worst car dog in the world, wines, cries, runs around in the backseat...

You aren't able to go in the cargo area to check. But depending on the airline and who is working, you may get someone that comes and gives up updates on your pet. But only at a connection. Had someone come tell me that my dog made it on the flight and that he was doing well.
If your dog isn't great in a vehicle though, I wouldn't recommend flying unless you can get sedatives from a vet. It may help.

That might be the way to go. The last time I took her on the ferry we left her in the car for like 5 minutes to go to the bathroom and we got called back down almost as soon as we left because she was scaring people.
We left the window open about 3 inches so she could breathe and some stupid family walked by and she barked or growled at them... But we haven't tried to do the ferry again since then. I'm sure she'd bark at the handlers on a plane too...

Direct flight? Shouldn't be too bad. If its a short flight with no layovers, a sedative will be fine I'm sure

Talk to your vet. The prescribe different doses of sedative depending on the size of your dog. I'm sure she would be fine

Exercise and diet. Work for both humans and animals. Haha. Only thing I know about how to cure obesity.

It's not that easy, we've been working on her weight for like 3 years haha. Definitely not going to get her slimmed down by the time we depart

My princess is beautiful, she does not need cosmetic surgery to fit into society's idea of a "healthy bmi"
