lol canadians are far more cultured and polite than americans. this is world wide known fact. test if out for yourself. next time u travel abroad wear a shirt with a maple leaf on it one day and see how ur treated. the next day wear a shirt with an american flag. compare the two experiences and there's ur answer

I think it's trashy to wear a flag of any country on your shirt, to me it just shows that you're not from that country but you visited before

I think the difference in treatment you might experience is a result of the U.S. being the greatest single threat to world peace, not because of perceptions of culture and politeness of individual citizens.

nope. actually i wasn't thinking about the threat to world peace when i responded. most people on the whole find most americans to be rude, vulgar and impolite. (with good reason)

I wasn't trying to guess what you were thinking, I was stating my opinion on why people dislike the U.S., and by extension its citizens. But yes, tourists from the U.S. do have a reputation for being loud, rude and demanding in many countries. :)

while we're on the subject ill just point out that american curriculum (at least when i was in hs and uni) focused largely on american studies with little consideration given to other countries.

Hahaha I'm Dutch and I detest our capital too. Too many (American) tourists. The whole town feels like a fucking museum. Highly overrated, quite expensive and way way way too crowded.

Myeah, but weed is legal everywhere in Holland. Coffee shops are not exclusively in Amsterdam. In the rest of the country the quality in general is also better, cause it's for the Dutchies themselves that know the difference. Rather than tourists who will buy your shit anyway.
Personally, like most Dutch I'm not much into weed anymore. That was fun as a teenager, but quite boring now. Could be the cookie jar effect, cause after I turned 18 and I could get it myself I lost interest very fast. :)
