Anne Rice vampire chronicles

I read a few years ago that Universal acquired the rights to the whole series and were planning to make a bunch of new movies, but nothing ever happened. Today someone just told me Anne and her son got the theatrical rights back and are planning to turn the vampire chronicles into a TV series like True Blood, possibly on Netflix. So we'll get to see each book presented as a new season
Any other Rice fans super stoked for this to happen? I started reading Anne Rice when I was about 12 and have been waiting since then for the books to come to life on screen. Interview with a Vampire and Queen of the Damned don't count because they both sucked and were one offs

I liked Interview with a Vampire. Good vampire movie overall. 9/10

 

Very good, but can be a long/dry read if it's not your thing. I would recommend the Lives of the Mayfair Witches series by her instead, way more entertaining

 

But it's so outdated! A new version would be so much better

 

I agree, it's been forever since a good vampire movie rolled through.

 

I was so excited in 2014 when I heard about Universals plans for "Lestat" and the years of waiting just made me want it more. It's too bad that movie will never happen but I think a Netflix series will be better anyway.
Now If they would just get moving with the Mayfair Witches

 

Lestat is one of my all time favourite vampires

 

nice I'm on the second book right now and also lestat is my favorite all time vampire

 

I've read them all but I recently found my copy of 'Memnoch the devil' so that's what I'll be reading for like the next month
