Yes, and Indians are Asian...since India is in Asia. But, I hear what you're saying...when someone describes a person as "Asian" I tend to think of people whose ancestry is from eastern Asia, what my mother's generation called "Oriental."
Yeah but in North America we don't refer to East Indians as Asians, they're East Indians. And thats not racist either so dont even start with that crap it's just what we call them when speaking normally.
Why do you call them East Indians? What's West Indians, then? Are they Native Americans? This is all so confusing, if Native Americans don't come from India then why are they called West Indians? Don’t forget First Nations better than saying Native or Indian. My bf who is Nisgaa uses First Nations, or if he’s speaking to a foreigner who doesn’t know what that means he says Indigenous or Aboriginal. Never Native or Indian
