Only place I've been to are England, Wales and Turkey. When I'm more financially stable, I think I'll visit a North American country, like Canada. What are the best places? I hear Newfoundland is nice. Also, I want to go mountain climbing there so where's a place with climbable mountains? I'm planning on going Scotland next year to climb the Ben Nevis so that's probably what I'll be doing in Canada too.
If you want to go mountain climbing, BC is definitely the province you should visit! We have tons of mountains. Here's a tourism page that might be a good resource for you.
I believe it's in Alberta, which as far as I understand is a place where English is the primary language (my bud doesn't speak French and he never reported and difficulties)...but hopefully our Canadian friends can shed more light on the subject.
Banff is in Alberta, which is in western Canada. It's the province next to BC. Both provinces are good options for mountain climbing.
I find that western Canadian accents sound a lot like western US accents. You won't hear much difference between us and someone from San Francisco. When I lived in Toronto I did hear a Canadian accent, but it was more like "oat" and "aboat". I think the Canadian accent gets stronger the further east you go.
It's kind of considered the "default" accent, at least in the world of film and TV, because Hollywood is located on the west coast. It sounds like pretty much anything you'd hear on an American TV show. An example is actor Robert Buckley, who is from California. To me, it doesn't sound like he has any sort of accent because people in Vancouver speak very similar.
Close, yeah. My mom is actually from Banff. I was born about 45 mins from Banff in a city called Calgary. I might have a bias but I think the mountains are better in Alberta. And I’ve probably climbed that mountain before lol.
