A friend from one of my classes invited me to one of his church meetings and I enjoyed it. However, I noticed that it all, like the songs and the reading of certain passages of the bible, seemed to revolve around the simple insight of accepting Christ. I already accepted Christ before going to Church and he asked me after class if I'm going again this Sunday, but I don't understand what there is left to do after you have accepted Christ...

If any advice on this issue is appreciated.

You can unfriend Christ and then re-accept his friend request each time you want to go to church.

I think for some people church is more a way of staying connected to the community. My aunt goes to church to see her friends/neighbours and hang out.

Yeah I mean I enjoyed the singing and felt relaxed after, but my interpretation of Christ is almost the opposite of my friends so it will be tough to belong to a community w/ him.

Would you guys go to a Church meeting if your friend invited you?

I’ve been to church on the invitation of a friend whose father plays the organ. And he’s quite good at it too.
I enjoyed the music and some of the stories they read from the bible are interesting, but it doesn’t change my ideas about the magic man in the sky.
To me church is mostly about listening to music and stories, and watching people

The only time I’ve been in a church was because my friend invited me. Mistake.

I almost forgot to mention that I always go to church with my nan when we’re in the UK for Christmas. I don’t mind and it pleases her, mostly the fact that we’re all there

But as a whole it is difficult to get people to be good to the point where it is safe and each person's rights are respected. That's why we need a government to police us, lol. :)

I've thought about joining freemasonry, but my belief in God is iffy at best.
Even though I was baptized and confirmed in the holy family Lutheran church.
And I got my calm hours from teaching Sunday school.

I just have too many questions that blind faith can't provide.

Yes, faith is not a good reason to believe anything. One can believe anything on faith, and if faith can get you to two contradictory positions, then obviously faith is not a good path to truth.

Actually, you should consider doing it just to make them happy. The water won't save you nor will it kill you but it would make some people happy. That's kinda the reason I'm still staying in the closet, for the sake of my parent.
