If you want to spread the message, then you're doing it wrong. Try to be an actual person, be nice and friendly then bring up your beliefs only if you're asked about it. You'll be taken way more seriously and people won't just tune out whenever you speak.
Not only that they don't think about deeper issues, but that they don't question their own existence, they don't raise the question of whether they exist at all, this is absolutely certain for them (You can see this w/ Descartes, I doubt this exists, I doubt that exists, oh wait I am absolutely certain it is me who is doubting, so I exist, which means I don't doubt it is me who is doubting), they believe that they are living now w/ a world around them and that they will die, they don't question this truth, they stand in this opening w/out any dread or terror. This abyssal opening of the mortals is what Christ sees through.
Isn't he referring to the false prophets and not those who have accepted Christ in the fruits line? See Matthew 7:16 I think my point still stands because he doesn't say how to show what they are or what such a showing would entail.
I don't question my own existence because it's fucking stupid. Even if we were living in the matrix, would it really make a difference? I'd still live my life the exact same way. I'm all for thinking about deep hypothetical issues, but I wouldn't judge anyone who doesn't think about them. At a certain point people have to grow up and think about real life shit.
By your fruits is a general idea that refers to everyone. Anyone who calls themselves a Christian and speaks false doctrine, or any doctrine, is judged by their actions. If they openly walk in disobedience, they cannot be Christians. The same test applies to all, and the sentiment is spoken in the OT. Proverbs 20:11 Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.
Greek philosophy and Stoicism for the win man. Hell, I'd take Shinto over Christianity these days. Confucianism. Buddhism. ANYTHING BUT WORSHIPPING JESUS CHRIST. roflmao the whole bible just pisses me right off.
The emphasis was more on questioning whether you exist at all not starting w/ it as a given fact, not questioning some already given existence which you call your own and can be stupid or be in another way and since this existence is already given to you, questioning it might seem futile (no amount of questioning will change the fact that you exist), so it is better to move on to other things.
Did you study Philosophy at University by any chance? My sister takes Philosophy, I take Law. At the end of our first year, we had an argument on whether the moon really exists or not. Take a wild guess who was arguing it didn't exist... Philosophy damages the brain lol
I don't see a point of the Last Judgment if that is the case, if mortals can judge or know who has accepted Christ and is thus granted Salvation, why do we need God to decide? I thought that it was by the Divine Grace of Christ that one is granted Salvation and not through any action such as speaking false or true doctrine or doing this or that Work. Not every child is the Son of God, so I don't see how that we may know a mortal child by their doings should also be applicable to Christ or whether knowing Christ is the same as knowing that we have accepted Christ. The function of knowledge in Christianity is still unclear to me, for example in Genesis it is written: 'And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, or after eating the apple, they 'knew' they were naked...
No, I am not a fan of Philosophy or philosophizing, I guess I should admit to you now that most of my points are coming from Heidegger's Denkweg, sadly this path is not offered at any of my local Universities. I take existence to mean the point 'that' you are, maybe you will say 'I am', this 'thereness' of your I, and then later you might say what you are, like a woman or something, this would be your essence, so I take existence/essence as a couple coming together whenever we consider something which is. This is Heideggers basic theorem, he calls it Differenz: Sein/Seinde, What/that, Essence/Existence. Heidegger shows that this Differenz remains forgotten for the mortals, they move w/in it, they also experience trouble w/ it since they can't behold it or face it like a tree or something which is. One aspect of his project (for example see Die Beiträge zur Philosophie (Vom Ereignis)) is to think or question Sein w/out recourse to any being, this is one of the first steps to get out of the realm of the mortals or what he calls Metaphysics.
Some Christians say Saturday because God created the world on Sunday making Saturday the 7th day, I think.
I always thought Monday was the first day of the week and Sunday was the day of rest, even when I was back in my fams religion.
If you look at most calendars, they have Sunday as the first day of the week and Saturday as the 7th.
