If you have any computer tips that might help someone out, post them in this thread! é instead of ? 1) hit ctrl + shift to switch between languages 2) click on the keyboard icon in the bottom right corner of your screen, and manually change the language to English (US)
If you hold down ctrl and tap w, then a picture of a cat appears. Not a joke, Steve Jobs wanted it implemented before he died
[CTRL] [SHIFT] [DELETE] in many browsers is a shortcut for clearing recent history...I use it to clear the cache when needed.
Alt + tab = to switch from one window to another. Ctrl + tab = to switch next tab Ctrl + Shift+ tab = to switch previous tab
If you have bookmarked webpages that you don't want others to see, create a new folder for those bookmarks.
CTRL + W closes your current browser, in case you have a lot that you will go through... for example if you have like 100 tabs open with one image in each, for which you have a macro for saving the picture once you click on it edit: current tab, not browser.
If someone calls and offers to fix your computer and managed to remote control without your permission (I’ve seen it happen, fuckers are trash). Hard power down your computer and when it’s off start asking them why they’re doing this, and make up weird shit your computer is doing, then tell them they’re just fucking it up, and you need to speak to a manager because they broke it and you want a replacement.
Windows 10 R4 (Fall Creators Update) We had a client call last week and someone remoted into his computer like that, he actually gave them his credit card info. Out like 2 grand and they fucked his system up, I just told him to tell them to **** off, report it to his credit card company and change his card number. And never let anyone remote to his computer unless he calls them directly for help, nobody with any legitimate reason does that without permission
Download a program called uTorrent and then go to thepiratebay.org. Type in what you are looking for and give it a shot. Please note that keygens appear as viruses to anti virus software and need to be overridden. Downloads with larger seeders (people uploading) and leaches (people downloading) are generally safer. Use at your own risk... Software, games, movies...just dont do it in the USA.
I’d avoid the pirate bay, it’s heavily monitored - private sites are better, although monitoring still happens. Download some things from there and you’ll get piracy notice mail from your ISP
What, they actually bother you about torrents in Canada? What sites are comparable to TPB and dont cause red flags? Do they shut you off if you dont stop?
All they know is what ISP, so they submit the complaint to the ISP, the ISP doesn’t disclose who you are - they just forward the complaint to you. Some people are dumb and call them, which tells them who they’re dealing with I’m not sure if they’re allowed to disclose who you are, but the letters are a pain in the ass pirate bay got taken down a few years ago, pretty sure it’s actually the US authorities running it now
I'm not having any problems using TPB right now...and I'm not using any VPN. Just because the us doesn't like it, doesn't matter. I am fairly certain there was a freedom of speech ruling in the supreme court of Canada that said they didn't care if people downloaded in Canada, about 15 years ago.
