I miss chatting with strangers who have similar interests over these nexopia threads... So lets talk about our favorite horror movies! My top 5 would be:
    • The Devils Rejects
    • Get Out
    • Hereditary
    • Saw (honestly the whole series but if i had to pick one it would be the second)
    • Final Destination (whole series again but if i had to pick one it would be the third)
So what are your top 5?

I think my favourite as of right now is Cabin in the Woods, or Tucker and Dale vs. Evil

maybe Shaun of the Dead... that movie is awesome

that being said, The World's End was pretty epic too.

Guess I like a little gory, a little funny, and lots of adventure

Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, Trick R Treat, 28 Days Later. Not really my jam for genre, but these are a couple that I enjoy.

Pretty solid choices I think, I enjoyed all of those. Horror isn't really my favourite, but there are some good (as in enjoyable/fun to watch, not quality film) movies

I like the Horror movies with a little more to them. Like thinking bits or trying to figure out the unravelling plot as opposed to just being jump scared every 10-15 minutes for an hour and a half. I get that there are probably more people who like being scared shitless by a garbage movie with a garbage plot, but I prefer the story to actually make some kind of sense and be scary because of the reality of the situation as opposed to "here comes spoopy ghosty goo to murder people"

agreed, the jump scares are usually predictable, story really makes it.

I think Alien is still one of the best - not sure it's really "horror", but it had a compelling story to go with the jump scares

Oh shit yeah! Alien is amazing as Sci-Fi/Horror goes. Ripley was a wonderful character. Aliens was also good, but is kind of its own thing. Ditching the Sci-Fi/Horror feels for more of an ..Action/Horror movie. The Sci-Fi was still there but it felt less Sci-Fi for some reason to me.

If you can find the ..shit whats it called Factory Cut? Machine Bay Cut? ..I can't remember what Fincher called his cut of Aliens 3, but if you watch that cut Aliens 3 isn't actually as garbo as the studio cut. If theres one thing I've learned over the years though its that studio intervention is god damn horrific for any film/show. Never let money people tell you how to be creative. Its why movies now are so bankrupt. reboot after reboot, relaunch after relaunch. YOU KNOW WHAT WE NEED.. OCEANS 11 ...BUT ITS ALL BLACK TRANSWOMEN! ...like ..dood just make something new instead of constantly destroying classics with "remakes" and "reimaginings"

yeah, remakes should be saved for movies that need to be fixed

the new Dune is pretty damned fantastic, the original was a chaotic clusterfuck... to be fair, if they'd made it two hours longer and you could ignore the cartoony weirdness and the garbage CGI, it may have come out better, but they sqeezed like 3 hours of material in the last 30 minutes. Studios shouldn't be allowed to ruin movies like that.

The only thing about the new one that pissed me off was the way it ended - because it was a crappy place to end a movie when you don't know if you get to make the second half lol (****, that's not horror, oops)

I think what happend to OG Dune could classify as Horror. I'll let it ride. I watched I think 3/4s of the Dune remake and it was alright... until Zendaya showed up.. kid can't act.. I can only imagine how garbage the second half is gonna be when she's a more prominent character >.>
