Our founding fathers (U.S.) would be appalled, given the great effort they made to set up a secular government. It's not enough that these nutjobs have instituted teaching our children magic as science, now this. If this shit passes, and it likely will, this will be one giant step in the wrong direction.

I've always felt that freedom of religion must include freedom from religion, but I guess I'm wrong. I also see this shit as an endorsement, but I guess I'm wrong there as well. :(

Hillbillies man, they've infiltrated everywhere and are spreading their vile ways under an innocent guise. Never before has it been more important to cling to the truth and to not allow the vile perpetrators of bullshit any ground. Sorry to hear this is happening on your home turf, and good luck.

You should live where I live, lol, where there are a bunch of religions Mosques, Buddhist temples and Christian churches all competing for you to subscribe to their religion. :)

I would rather live in a secular society, where religions stay where they belong. :)

It was like in ancient Athens, where all of these philosophies were competing for you to subscribe to them, lol. :)

Yes, we are definitely acting like we're in ancient times here. It's like we are moving towards a theocracy. :(

Just down there, though. Not all of the United States is that way, though. :)

Yes, I'm only speaking about the religious garbage being pushed in Florida, although there are a lot of places in the U.S. that it's a big problem, unfortunately.

I think that religion is a personal choice and shouldn't be forced upon people, lol. :)

As do I. People should be free to seek religion out on their own, not have it seek them. When I go to a government building, I should not be accosted by religion.

You might want to consider moving if it becomes a big problem. :)

Yes, you're not the first to suggest to me that perhaps I should leave if I object to religion being pushed at me.

But, instead of running away from the problem, I can stand my ground and fight against the insanity. That's what a true patriot does. I want my country to be better, not leave in search of a better country. ;)

They're not going to seek him out and lynch him for being an atheist, its just really fucking annoying and it deteriorates the fabric of society to be confusing the kids like that with creationism being taught in schools. Creationism and Nationalism are probably being pushed together so that all they need to do to go to war is proclaim the enemy to be atheistic/COMMUNIST, there's big money in selling bombs and guns you know, so why not dumb down the population so they can be manipulated more easily?

I'm sure they are more than a few here just in my county who would lynch me in a heartbeat if they could. I've been told I worship Satan, that I must be a pinko commie, and that I don't belong here...all because I reject a claim that hasn't met its burden of proof.

You are getting a bad representation of Christianity in your place, it seems. It is more of a group versus group over there it seems, lol, which is very toxic. Over here, it is more of being loving towards others. :)

I just saw a post on facebook that said "God prefers loving atheists over hateful Christians", it was a church road sign and I agree. If God existed he wouldn't want his people to be acting like hateful children towards those who don't believe in him. Sorry to hear about your experiences Mark, stay strong dude. And know that there are PLENTY of people and places out there that agree with YOU, and think that their behavior is repugnant.

The biggest indication that most of the bad things that Christians do in the name of religion is not God-sponsored is antisemitism, lol. The Jews were God's "chosen" people, so why would he hate them, lol. :)
