Canadian mobile carrier Freedom has upped their game.

13gb of data, unlimited calling and text to Canada and the US, no roaming charges, and if you go over your data they just throttle it, no extra fees.

I had the same plan with TELUS, except only 12gb of data.

    Price with TELUS? $170
Freedom? $59 a month for the first year, then $69 after that. Their network sucks, but you roam on Rogers, which is decent, for free when you’re off their network. Still unlimited calls and texts.

I called TELUS loyalty to see if they’d offer something to keep me, the guy tried really hard - came back with “dude, I’m sorry we’re losing you, my boss sucks”

But can you get a nice new phone for a decent price when signing up? I’m waiting for my current plan to end in October so I can get an iPhone 6s for hopefully cheap af

I’d check and make sure you get service where you live, if you do? Damned good deal - they have a cheaper plan too, I think it’s 50 for unlimited calls and text in Canada and 8gb of data

I do not, I was just shocked I got a better plan for $110 less a month.

I do have a friend who works for Shaw, but he doesn’t give me deals

Well I’m happy for you getting something else. I’m assuming Tellus is America’s equivalent to Verizon and even I don’t think they have the balls to charge 140 for one line

I mindlessly use data and I can 100% guarantee I go over the amount and even with shitty ass sprint it’s really not so bad when its “throttled” I just don’t see the point in having so much data what do you use it on?

I had a second line I was sharing the data with. Got rid of that too thankfully

I was on a much nicer plan, but I wanted a new phone, got bumped to a higher plan to cover the financing - but the data was still way overpriced
