Have you ever dated a friends ex?

If you did, how did it go? Did you ask your friends permission first or just go for it?

 

Nope. Probably wouldn't at this point in my life. Not worth the headache or drama.

 

Yeah I haven't either I know how it feels when a two faced bitch hooks up with your ex and I could never do that to people I call friends.
But my brothers ex is dating my ex and idgaf about that, like we both dumped them so good luck together

 

Not so much an ex. My best friend had a thing with a girl, and he was completely in love with her but she didn’t feel the same way about him. He even had to go to therapy over it, and his feelings lasted for years. But I randomly met her at a party once, and we immediately hit it off. We ended up sleeping side by side at a friends house one night, and as soon at the first train came in the morning I disappeared without saying goodbye. That repeated at a bunch of different house parties, we’d have fun (never crossed a boundary) and I would disappear in the morning before anyone woke up out of guilt. Eventually though she ended up kissing me and we started sneaking behind everyone’s back. I don’t even think I can explain the way we were together, it was the most magnetic relationship I’ve ever experienced. But people started to suspect us and there were a few slip ups and I got too stressed out and ended it without explaining to her why. I just got up at a house party one day and left, never saw or talked to her again. I was too weak at the time to deal with the drama of my best friend.

 

@d0nut Did you ever tell your friend? I'd imagine they would have been pretty upset at the time but maybe not so much later?

 

No, never told him. It’s hard to explain without writing a novel, but this girl really messed him up and he never got over it, even now (over a decade later)

No. The closest thing that ever happened was the time I slept with this girl that a guy I know had been pining over for ages. Ohh boy was he mad. She wasn't even interested in him so I didn't think I was doing anything wrong. I guess I could've spared the drama by passing on that one but it's long over with now.

I bet you felt hella guilty keeping that from him But if it's something that caused him that much emotional distress you probably made the right call not telling him. Sometimes doing something that hurts someone can actually be made worse by telling them about it.. like adding insult to injury. And it's not like you stayed with the girl or anything.

 

It's relevant. I think that was a shit move on her part to go through all your friends. How did you end up dating your friends ex's, was it vindictive like your ex seemed to be?

Nope, she did.. which was probably the shittiest thing she could've done really.

 

Had I not been friends with him, I probably would have married her.

her motives for dating those guys weren't true
but i liked her for her so that's why we dated
if it were the other way around i could see them having a problem

That sucks so much Did you at least stay friends with the guy after all that?
I tried to set my bff up with a guy once but he turned out to be into me instead. She said she didn't care because she hardly knew him so we ended up dating for 4 years, but when we broke up she revenge f*cked him to hurt me because she had held it against me all along. Not about the guy, they didn't even get along, but because he liked me and not her.
I can't imagine if we both had strong feelings for him how nasty it would have turned out

 

Lol either you know some seriously chill people or you're unaware of their real feelings But as long as everyone says they're cool I say green light. If someone really had a problem they should have said something.
