what are your tricks to feeling better when you have a cold or flu? Kinda feel like I took a shotgun blast to the back of my throat
Staying home and overdoing the self medicating today, because I don’t plan on being coherent enough to leave the house
Eat as much citrus fruits as you can. Eat at least 4 oranges or 4 grapefruits every day. Even if you're not hungry. Force yourself to do it. Avoid lactates and meat because they contribute to forming mucus in your body and you don't want more mucus than you already have when you've got the flu.
I don't usually get sick very often but when I do I usually just hydrate a lot and sleep, but I stay hydrated quite a bit in general. That latter luxury of sleep is something not everyone can afford though. I would agree with Lucian though, avoid anything with lactose, or anything that has yeast(ferments in general) as they can contribute to mucus and add to any sort of infections in the throat.
Tbh I find exercise to relieve symptoms is the most effective. I like to go walk around to some stores or something. Bed makes me mucousy
That is good too; I'm just lazy. I usually do that if I get any muscle injuries or things of the sort. I find that it helps a lot more than laying down and resting, which, in my experience, tends to worsen the injury as opposed to some light physical activity.
