If my neighbor beats on my door and wakes me up again, I'm going to lose my shit. It's to the point that you can't be nice to people anymore without them wanting to take advantage and use you. This stupid woman seems to think that because I have a vehicle and she doesn't (and because I took her somewhere twice last month) that I am now going to drive her wherever anytime she needs/wants to go. And it's not like she doesn't have family - sons and daughters and grandchildren - with vehicles that live here in town. She does and they visit often. It'll be a cold day in hell before I answer my door to her again.
Not a pushover so much as I am too freakin' nice. I don't mind helping once or twice, but I'm not going to be a personal taxi.
AUGH. I hate that. I had a similar situation, made friends with the new downstairs neighbors right when they moved in, young couple, nice. They soon became a nuisance knocking on the apartment door almost everyday to see if we'd smoke some weed or ask the guy I was living with for cigarettes or just to hang out or to borrow a DVD. It got to a point if I was alone and I moved around in the apartment during the day the girl would come up and knock and want to talk about stupid girl shit since the boys were away. This is something which I do not do. So I was scared to walk around sometimes because I knew she was waiting for me to get up in the morning. Augh.
Get this....First of the month, she got her money and asked me to take her to some city municipal building. She came out saying that she would just have to call the electric company and make payment arrangements with them. It seems that she didn't have the money to pay her electric bill for the month. Odd thing is, our cottages (I live in a senior housing development) are identical. My bill for that month was less than $20. I don't conserve, but I'm also not stupid. I don't turn on lights unless I need to kind of thing. Anyway, a few days later she wakes me up and wants a ride. She doesn't tell me exactly where she needs to go. She kept telling me that she needed to be at a building near the casino. I told her I needed gas and she handed me $10. That would do since where I was taking her was only 2 miles away. As we got close to where she wanted to go, she directed me to drop her off at the front doors of the casino. I mean, seriously?! If you don't have the money for your electric bill, how in the hell do you have money for the casino?
