Its the end times now, the great war for Jerusalem will begin soon. Praise be to the flying spaghetti monster!
It's what our government does...it meddles all over the world, and then stupidly wonders why we have so many enemies.
I just don’t understand how that’s even legal or acknowledged by other countries. Shouldn’t the rest of the world just tell America they can’t do that? I don’t know much about politics
Well you have to remember that all Donald Trump is actually doing is moving the embassy, but it's the importance he's placing on that act that's causing the mess. Or did he actually say that "Jerusalem is now the capital of Isreal?" Because yeah if he actually declared that then the whole she-bang is truly methed up/doesn't make sense because Hey-Donny-not-your-nation.
Where america is taking on the roll of a big brother to other countries. Basically meaning we keep our allies safe but also like to be in command.
I find most of politics to be noise, so I don't put much energy into following it. Life is short, and there's far too many other truly fascinating things to pay attention to. However, Trump has announced that the U.S. will recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. From what I've read there's a great deal of criticism of this, both here and abroad. I think the main issues are: Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem has never been recognized internationally, and all countries maintain their embassies in Tel Aviv. Jerusalem contains sites sacred to the three major monotheistic faiths - Judaism, Islam and Christianity. East Jerusalem, which includes the Old City, was annexed by Israel after the Six Day War of 1967, but before now it has not been internationally recognized as part of Israel. Trump is simply pandering to his right wing largely Christian constituency, who feel the U.S. is the right hand of their god. Of course, no trouble was ever started by anyone who thought they were doing the work of their god.
You should have seen it with many European countries during the Age of Exploration and beyond, such as the Treaty of Tordesillas, carving up of Africa, and the redrawing up of the map of Eurasia after the World Wars, lol.
I am majorly facepalming right now because I remember reading somewhere that a large Christian sect thinks that there will be a "Final War of Armageddon" sometime in the "Holy land". Bitch don't make me slap you the whole planet is holy and starting wars is wrong, SMH.
Aren't they still carving Africa up? The Chinese are in on it now too... modern day venture capitalism/colonialism. SMH again
Yes, one should find it troubling that so many here in the U.S., even some in positions of great power, are wishing for the end of the world as described by their holy book.
SMH again man's fate is in man's hands. It's failing to realize that and take positive action instead of relying on a big invisible friend in the sky that brings us to these situations to begin with. Trump is a fool and certainly not Christian or even religious for that matter and it's been so cheesy to watch him pander to a voter base like this. #weak
Yes, I don't think for a moment that Trump is a Christian, I think he is just pandering. I think he just wanted to be president for reasons of ego, and he picked the most gullible group to which to pander. But, I think we do have many in power here who believe their holy book is the inerrant word of their god, and that's scary.
Agreed, because there are so many interpretations of what is going to happen, and how they all vary is what really gets me. Why do they think they know whats going to happen? Blind faith? Argggghhh
Corporate globalization is kind of taking over the world, lol. A teacher of mine once said that one tactic they use to drive out local businesses is by lowering their prices to become super cheap, run the mom and pops of business, then hike up the prices, lol.
Very true. Most of America and Canada are like that now. I don't know if they're hiking up the prices though, Wal-mart is still pretty damn cheap.
