Out of all the recipes I have for epic 2 minute mug cakes, I decided tonight was the night to try a random one from Pinterest. So. Much. Regret!

It basically tasted like vanilla mashed potatoes, my dog loved it

It's supposed to look like this apparently

But Mr Wrecky just wanted plain vanilla so I didn't add the sprinkles.
I kind of knew when I saw the ingredients that it was going to be jacked up, but I didn't know how bad.

I should have replaced the white sugar with brown, the veg oil with applesauce, the milk with butter, doubled the vanilla and added cinnamon. But I ignored my bakers instinct out of curiosity, live and learn :hammer:

The ingredients themselves wouldn't have made a hideous cake in the oven, if the ratios had been correct.
The idea of a mug cake is a lazy AF cupcake for one, instead of baking a whole tray, but this was the wrong way to do it. I'll post a legit recipe next time I make one.

We got some sort of chocolate mug cake mix for free some time ago. It looked really simple
    • Put mix in mug
    • Add water
    • Stir like crazy
    • Put in microwave and nuke it
    They forgot the last step
    • Throw away

I'm surprised a chocolate one was shit, usually a strong flavour is the saving grace.

This is a "doing it right" video

Hmm suddenly I feel like I should put away the toaster and the coffee maker and get a microwave instead
