yeah, google definitely makes it very difficult for forums, which in my opinion are superior to all the other attempts at fostering online communities. I have no use for social media, and I think platforms like Reddit are garbage. Forums offer so much more, but they just require too much effort on the part of users now.

I don't know about any of that...I came here just a few weeks ago because @skrinkle was posting at TheAdminZone (a site for site admins to discuss administrative issues), and I could see that she and I agree on a lot of things about how a forum should be run, and I could also see that she is enthusiastic and motivated to take the site along with all the issues she's inherited, and make a go of it. I respect that a great deal.

It's like she obtained an old car with weeds growing up into the engine bay, and is going to restore it to its former glory...it will be a great deal of work and can't happen overnight.

Long story short, new owner made changes that wasn’t ideal for our user base and we got screwed. But things are fixed and we just have to wait for people to notice.

This niche (general discussion) is also saturated and will be difficult to gain traction...but we do have the highly recognized Nexopia name and that will definitely help. :)

The 13 age limit was gross :iik: it’s 16 now but I agree that 18 might be more appropriate idk

But it won't matter until Nexopia creates a demand for people to come here

    Sub-threads would be useful

That is much easier said than done...and AFAIK the best way to attract more users here is with good content. Most agree that content is king when it comes to attracting new users.

Can't really create great content if the talk is not centralized enough to show up on searches. We need sub-threads. The threads now are way to generalized

What do you mean by sub threads?
