Last I heard a considerable part of the country is still controlled by the Taliban. Any truth to that?
I got this map from the Dutch ministry of foreign affairs Red: do not travel (i.e. stay out) Orange: only necessary travel Yellow: watch out, safety risks Some quotes from that website: Public transportation is unsafe Do not travel by public transport in Pakistan. Public transport is a regular target of attacks. Hotel taxis are a better way to move in Islamabad and Lahore. Long-distance buses between the cities of Lahore and Islamabad are also possible. Then use the well-known, larger companies such as the Daewoo company. Crime Serious crime occurs in Pakistan. Especially in large parts of the city of Karachi. Take into account: armed (car) robberies; robberies; abductions; kill; explosions in public places such as markets, offices and public transportation; sectarian violence or religiously inspired violence; violence against sexual minorities. Terrorism There is a serious threat of terrorist attacks in Pakistan. The security situation is unstable and unpredictable. Terrorist violence occurs regularly in places such as Quetta and Peshawar. Take bomb attacks and attacks with explosives and firearms into account. The attacks are often aimed at police and military institutions (including checkpoints) or other government institutions. Busy public places such as markets, hotels, clubs, restaurants, hospitals and educational institutions are also often targeted. Sectarian violence Sectarian violence occurs in some areas. For example, violence between supporters of different Islamic movements. Prayer houses and residential areas of minorities are then a possible target.
Pakistan is a safe country now, yes there was some problems we have faced in past. The red marked areas are nearest places to Afghanistan and everybody know afghans were fighting with America and Pakistan. our army launched many operations to remove those terrorists and terrorism in Pakistani Areas. Now Every thing is going fine. I don't know why media always shows negative face of Pakistan but the reality is different. Many foreigner visit Pakistan and they always encourage its untouched beauty. The map you have shared is totally wrong. The Orange color includes " Hunza" and "gilgit" these are the most beautiful places in Pakistan. I can bet if you ever visit Pakistan your misconception will be clear...
Are you retarded? New Zealand is a mostly crime-free country even with the Christchurch shooting. Pakistan, on the other hand, is a terrorist-laden country with a high crime rate. You can't compare a single tragic event to years of bloodbath.
