    the shaw guys were just here and said the router was fine, I don't know how old it is though. My dad lives upstairs, its his router and internet. I am literally right below the router though. Also if I am sitting next to it with my laptop it is still bad.
    I think shaw is a rip off, I think there is a monopoly on the market for internet and they getting away with not providing their customers the product they pay for.

    Well, how shaws connection works vs Telus is different, Shaw actually uses Telus's line and rents bandwidth from them. You'd still be on copper as telus is still building the network. You'll max out at 50mb/s. That being said depending on how far away from a CO you are/How many people are using the web at the same time are huge factors in your Up/Down.

    I'd Try a LAN connection and attempt a speed test to see where you're at.

    Are you using Dial up? :rofl: The same in BC and AB Telus owns the infrastructure. Do you live on the outskirts of Calgary cause that may be the problem what at that speed jesus, I'd check your plan and see how much Bandwidth you're buying and if it's high I'd suggest a lower package cause that's ridiculous.

    Different guy comes every time, maybe he can figure something the last guy couldn't? it always seems to be miraculously fixed after a phone call and then the guy comes and finds nothing then a week later its shit again. Coincidence? maybe...
