Writing is definitely a lot of fun and enjoyable for me, although of course I sometimes have difficulties or am affected by temporary writer's block. I don't write to become famous or necessarily to have great financial success. But I definitely want to reach an interested group of readers. Publishing the book has to be done, of course. But it's not a hobby of mine. I think that's why I'm really best off with a publisher. I am of the same opinion. There are different ways and we authors have to inform ourselves which options are possible and which of them come into question for us personally. Since everyone is an individual, of course everyone can come to different conclusions!
When you write to publishers, you usually don't know beforehand what the outcome will be. Some are very eager, others don't answer at all. Some only accept manuscripts from agents. In my experience, you can establish friendly contact with Novum Publishing without any complications. I have been presented with a publishing package that appeals to me. It will probably be similar for other authors. But I would just send them an email or ask them if they are interested.
But the work also needs to be done. I think if you want to publish, that's just part of it. You should see it as a whole and not as something that does not belong. Of course, writing will be more fun, but also after writing you can make important experiences. Ultimately, you can only decide alone, it's good that you have several chances. It would be a pity if there was only one possibility and you are more or less in the hands of the publishers.
Thank you @brezel , sounds good to me in terms of realistic. Will do. I´d suggest that well,we have to make personal decisions on each and everything, but what counts to me is the amount of support that´s needed and required. There should not be a gap between those two, am I wrong?
Of course. But as a hobby writer, I won't become a professional editor in this lifetime. And even when I'm building a house, I'm happy to get all the services from a single source if possible. At Novum Publishing, I also have the option for my book. So why should I make it more difficult for myself than necessary? I also think it's important to get the services you need.
