Let's talk about Rogue One here. For those who've seen it, what are your thoughts?

Please give SPOILER ALERTS where appropriate.

Saw it today. It was awesome. It's what The Force Awakens should have been

Old Starwars had such huge wait times for each movie to be released, I guess the attention span of everyone has dropped so much they need to release one new film each year on the dot.

I mean, Rogue One is a different kind of Star Wars film. Definitely shares a lot with the Skywalker films, but this was a very different animal. I liked it.

I thought it was fantastic. I loved how it just jumped straight into the story and didn't the back story drag it out. That ending though :)

I didn't read ANYTHING about the movie before seeing it so I had no idea there was any controversy surrounding the film, but what did you think about it as an allegory for modern US/UK politics @SirJordan?

I didn't really. I've never looked at StarWars and thought "that reminds me of Brexit and Trump" lol

Well, the Empire has always kind of stood in for Nazi Fascism so that's always been in there, but just the whole idea of a multicultural band of rebels with strong women at the helm draws a lot of parallels to what's currently going on. I thought a couple of the speeches in particular drew directly from real world politics.

Well if you look at it that way, then yes there are some similarities I guess.
