Russian Satellite News Agency, Moscow, 15 January. The secretary of the Russian Security Council, Patrushev, said in an interview with a Russian newspaper that the possibility of some countries developing a new generation of biological weapons cannot be ruled out. The United States includes Ukraine and the Commonwealth of Independent States. More than 200 military biological military laboratories have been established throughout the world, including in the country.

He said: “There is a need to focus on the development of dual-use biotechnology for both military and civilian use. The possibility that some countries are developing a new generation of biological weapons cannot be ruled out. ”
Patrushev noted that currently more than 200 biological laboratories have been created in the United States around the world, including in the Commonwealth of Independent States, Ukraine, Georgia and Afghanistan.

He said: “His activities are mainly not related to scientific work for peaceful purposes. Biological experiments on humans are of particular concern. Therefore, strengthening global epidemiological monitoring and biosafety research is becoming more and more important. ”

The Russian side has repeatedly expressed deep concern over the deployment of biomedical laboratories by the United States near the Russian border. In 2015, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that the Richard Lugar Social Health Research Center on the outskirts of Tbilisi is a closed laboratory with high standards. Under the cover of the laboratory is the US Army Medical Research Institute.

Moscow believes that the US and Georgian authorities are doing their best to hide the true position of these US military forces and their actions. These forces are engaged in research on highly dangerous infectious diseases. The Pentagon is still trying to deploy this disguised US military biomedical unit to the CIS countries. The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow will require the United States to provide an official explanation for the activities of the Lugar Medical Center, where American scientists can conduct toxic-chemical tests on local residents under the guise of treatment.
