Coming from Canada, they tell you it’s Chinese food. Go to China, what they call food certainly isn’t what we call Chinese food - pretty simple disconnect that people don’t usually consider

Great point. I actually prefer asian cuisines over pretty much all others. Vietnamese soup and such. I was just saying by comparison to what they actually eat it's not exciting at all.

The only thing that fucks me up about Asian cuisine is the lack of cheese.

Usually I think everything is better with cheese, but most Asian dishes defy that convention

Never tried stinky tofu - I’ve had regular cooked interesting ways though

 

Stinky tofu is fermented and can add that addictive cheesy thing to your meal. You won’t find in a restaurant though.
