Have you ever tried it? What was it like? Would you do it again?

I have 19 jumps, 3:03 minutes of free fall time and I just got my CSPA solo license.

That’s amazing, I’ve always wanted to, that sounds freaking amazing, but then I was doing T-shirt designs for SkyDive ranch lol

Those fuckers were killing people every season and I was talking to the owner, asked him how he was dealing and he just laughed at how stupid people deserve it anyways

You're more likely to die in a car accident driving to go skydiving, than skydiving itself.

That's crazy though. I wonder if it was gear malfunction or pilot error / inexperience.

I highly recommend big sky in Beiseker

They were having all the new divers pack their own chutes - I guess there were some fails when it came to supervision, and some people did it wrong without it being caught

Odds are likely skewed by the fact almost everyone gets in a car at some point most days, and only a few thousand jump out of planes, and most aren’t at a skydive place being run by an irresponsible jerk :)

If your brakes are stowed, slider is up and the pilot chute is cocked, you can basically stuff your canopy into the bag and it will inflate. Maybe not very nicely, but it will come out.

If you're not under stable canopy by 2500' it's time for emergency procedures. Basic training.

Also you AAD should fire out your reserve at 1000' if you're still in freefall.

Those numbers don’t mean anything without units. Is that 8 deaths per 1,000,000 jumps and 17.4 per 100,000 kilometres?

    8 deaths per 1,000,000 jumps.
How many deaths per 1,000,000 car trips?
