I'm in one now but I can't lie, I feel like I always want to sleep around. Whenever i see someone that I know could have slept with if i wanted to and then try to repress that urge i feel awful.

What is it like to be in an open relationship anyway?

My GF is planning on moving in so we could save some dollars on rent.....

Am i just being a perv who just want to **** around? I fee like we are biologically made to have sex with multiple people.

In the Western world, monogamy was brought about by the Catholic Church.

Have you ever been in one? Ive always been in a monogomous relationship but I am starting to wonder if i should live another lifestyle.

I am not making this thread because I want to have sex with someone else right now....believe it or not.

I believe in it 100%. I think the desire to sleep around like that is just the old "grass is greener on the other side" mentality. It can really ruin a relationship if someone discovers that they aren't actually ok with it being open. Depends on the people involved though.

I could never do it as I'm just naturally monogamous. I have no desire to have any other type of relationship.

    Tell me more about you..

But its not a grass or greener situation though. Ive seen women less attractive than my girl and in worse financial situations and I feel like if are both compatible sexually, whats stopping us? Its just sex?

Or am i in my early forms of infidelity? I will never cheat on my girl but i do know she will never say yes to an open relationship

Then yeah you're just contemplating cheating which isn't good.

For me, monogamy sexually is not something that I owe my significant other if it is devoid of emotional attachment. It is just to satisfy a need like food. Sorry, I don't know how to explain it, lol.

Monogamy is unnatural, it's a social construct.

I believe in monogamy. Absolutely. I mean maybe when I am 60 I will be one of those weird swingers, who knows. But for now yes 10000%

Biologically yeah, socially nah. Social constructs can be good, language for example.

But polygamy is what is natural, though. Some evidence in support of it is natural selection.

Yeah, it's biologically natural. That doesn't make it socially natural, which is what I personally care about.

Then you are just staunchly advocating something that the Catholic Church arbitrarily put out as a rule.

Yes, the Catholic Church was able to impose a lot of their rules upon people. :) And people adopted it into their own personal moral system, such was their sway.

I'm not saying polygamy is immoral, just not my kind of thing.

To me, polygamy and monogamy have too much of a gray area in between.
