So I get my boltons installed tomorrow and i have questions

Is the shop installing my exhaust going to give me my stock exhaust as one whole piece?
How do I take it home if they do?
I've never had this done at a shop before, historically I've always worked on my own cars

Yeah, that's hard to say really. I don't see why they couldn't return your stock exhaust to you in one piece. Are you replacing the exhaust manifold with headers? (sorry if this is a stupid question...I'm more familiar with V8 cars). I would talk to the folks at the shop to see what your options are before the work begins.

Do you have a buddy with a truck that can meet you at the shop to transport the stock exhaust for you?

 

It's an inline 4 with a turbo
And the exhaust is a turboback, so the actual exhaust manifold isn't involved, it's just a downpipe
I was messing around with the idea of renting a truck to transport the exhaust to storage, or of the shop will hold my stock exhaust for a day while I arrange pickup, I can get a buddy to help transport it on Saturday
I would ideally like it back as one piece because I would swap back to stock if I ever sold my car

 

Some shops will automatically return old parts, other require you to request them. And it depends on how much you use that shop that calculates how long they will hold them for you. One shop in Calgary just puts them out back, so you have to be fast before someone else grabs them.

 

not for nothing, but i dont think the shop would have a problem holding it for you for 24 hours i mean its not like its a fckn month. plus if they wanna keep ur business.....

Have them cut it into trunk size pieces for you.

 

They said they will hang onto it until tmrw so I can pick it up with my bud who has a truck

I just left mine at the shop when I did mine on my st
