Everyone likes spaghetti But everyone makes their sauce a little differently. I want to know what you put in yours, and more specifically what you don't. Classic American spaghetti sauce usually includes: ground beef, onion, garlic, green bell pepper, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt & black pepper. Classic Itallian spaghetti bolognese is pretty different because it's primarily a meat sauce and not tomato based. Different ingredients it usually includes are: Olive oil, bacon, minced beef, carrots, celery, rosemary, thyme, milk and red wine. The spaghetti sauce I make (and am making right now) is a mix between the two styles, different ingredients I use are mushrooms, spinach and cinnamon. What do you guys use?
I'm adding shredded carrots to mine right now thanks to you 2 Sometimes when I want to sneak more vegetables into Mr Wreckys diet I'll add finely chopped cauliflower, zucchini and eggplant. He has no idea
Did I forget to list paprika? I don't have smoked right now, but I always add a little paprika and sometimes a touch of cayenne pepper Amazing, and the cinnamon really elevates the flavours.
I like to switch it up a little bit each time, but I like adding a lot of ingredients and need it to be meaty and filling. I add lots of garlic, onion, carrots, tomatoes and celery. I don't like to add bell peppers or zucchini. Definitely needs a nicely seasoned hamburger, but I like to add other meats as well, usually sausages of some time, often chorizo. I love mushrooms so I always add a good helping of that. Hmmm... trying to remember what else I like to add.
Mr Wrecky likes the meat to be about 80% ground beef and 20% ground pork. Totally not my jam, but I do it for him occasionally to compensate for when I add quinoa or couscous (which is what I like)
