Digital Pets owned real pets during my teenager years, in fact the number one cause of death within the Cat and Dog species around that time was the Tamagotchi. Herds of family pets would be found deceased and tossed inside garbage pales and other forms of refuge during these years. The Tamagotchi was by far superior to all pets that could be had.
