Hey everybody, What features do you MISS about the old Nexopia? We're trying to figure out how to make the site work for everybody, how it can stand apart, etc. Tell us what you liked about Nexopia back in the day. Thanks!
I miss higher quality profile photos! The size limit here is ridiculously small (50 kb?) and even if you're under the size limit, they get compressed and look all pixely.
Rules to make sense. In photos, and in forums. There was lots of items that were "bad", and made people turn to sites like Facebook. Allow all but nudity and extreme gore, in my opinion.
Related to the above post, I liked that thwre were forums (specifically teens and attention seekers) where moderation was lax and flaming was specifically allowed. If you want people to choose these forums over the millions of others they could be posting in on the Internet, you need to allow some freedom. I think teens forum is going to be an issue if you end up getting regs back because you'll have new users who are actually teens heading in there to find other teens and us almost-30 year old teens regs will be there lol. I don't know how to conquer this tbh but if you're specifically trying to target NEW users as well as returning users I see this getting confusing. Just a comment. Good luck lmao.
Two things: AS & Teens will likely remain a wild west of sorts. As we sort out rules and moderation, we definitely want to keep the spirit of the old Nex in place as much as possible. Excellent point re: Teens forum. May have to add/edit the forum description at some point to reflect that. Especially since millennial teens are so GD sensitive.
Yes! Butt-crack was considered Nudity which gave a 2-Week + Global. It was a tad extreme all over the place.
I used to come on here for the profile designing and music contests. Once those stopped I stopped logging in. My suggestion would be to start something similar up again.
I personally agree with the profile designing. But, to be honest, you can do a pretty good job with BCODE with the current profile system. Check mine out as an example, I'm using none of the "data entry fields", just used the one data entry field and used BCODE for formatting. But, what exactly do you mean by "music contests"? I can't remember what you're talking about. Remind me?
Yeah! Less fun if it's not a competition though haha. XD And the last one I remember was having to come up with a song name or something mashing some of Jack's Mannequin's songs together to win an autographed copy of their CD and some pins or whatever. I think there were also contests for Warped tickets and stuff like that. There always seemed to be a contest for something going on.
Ah yes, the actual contests. Gotcha. Well, if you have an interest... why not do yours up as best you can with what's available... maybe we can get some friendly competition going on to get the ball rolling.
Not enough people around yet, I don't know what is expected for profile information. I'm assuming it's not all the teen angsty stuff that was going on 10+ years ago when I was here haha. Also not a fan of doing a bunch of work on a profile no one will see if the site doesn't pick up. But maybe if the site kicks off! Side note: Do you know how to remove old blogs?
I, I haven't figured that out yet. @SadikB Could we have the ability to edit and/or delete blogs? (at least one of them, if edit is easier, edit/clear/save could work as a workaround)
Also, the site is getting some pretty decent traffic. It seems there are already quite a few committed to sticking around... If everyone makes an effort to log in regularly for a week or two, I think the site will pick up quick.
Considering that before the emails went out... for months and months and months, there were only about 10 of us.
Yeah, I checked back here a couple years after it slowed just to see what was going on. It was like a desert wasteland. The emails will prompt a lot of people to at least pop by I think, for nostalgia's sake. That's why I logged back in anyways.
Okay I thought about this some more, other features I liked from old Nexopia: Features of plus such as; profile skins, viewing profiles anonymously, spotlight, custom forum ranks The ability to search users based on a variety of things like age, gender, location, interests, when they were active, do they have pictures, sexuality, single, etc. Seeing new guys or girls, online guys or girls, birthday guys or girls Having polls on your page Page hits used to be a big thing that made people interact because no one wants to be the only one with 5 page hits. :p The ability to delete blogs haha. A new feature I think would be beneficial since there are now privacy options - the ability to view what your page looks like to the public/people you follow/members.
