For all things horror related! Chat about your favourite, most hated, recently watched or new things in the works. I've been watching Dead of Summer since it came out, I was expecting a bit more of an old school Friday the 13th/Sleepaway Camp feel to it but so far I've been pretty impressed. 2 of the same producers from Lost so if you were a fan of that show you will probably like this one too. There's also great 80's nostalgia in every episode so far
I was a horror junkie growing up. It got to the point where it stopped being fun. I went cold turkey for two years and now I'm fucking scared shitless when I watch horror and thriller films. HUSH which is on Netflix was a recent one I really liked.
@Mark CM You just gave me something new to watch! I've been a horror junkie my entire life, I blame my parents for letting me watch IT when I was six lol.
Yeah, I watched IT and one of the Elm Street movies at 6 and they stuck with me. Taking time away from horror was such a worthwhile investment in my own sanity and humanism though.
Have you seen this yet? My favourite film of the year. Not straight horror, but along the lines of Assault on Precinct 13 mixed with Commando. EDIT: with AWESOME practical FX.
It's fucking AWESOME. Just came out on DVD/Blu Ray so should be easy to find. I saw it twice in theatres.
I wasn't a huge fan of It Follows, found it dragged on. But an interesting concept for sure. And Hush is on my list on Netflix just haven't gotten around to it yet! Perhaps I will now that someone said it's good haha. The last one I watched was Holidays, it was not that great. I'm going to see Lights Out tonight. Have you guys seen it yet? Also a couple favourites - Oculus, The Strangers, The Cabin in the Woods.
What are the odds, that's the movie I put on last night. "She" wanted a "scary movie" and that's the first I found (on my computer) that "she" hadn't seen. @Wrecky
Why did you put "she" in quotations and then tag me in your response to @-Toxxic;;* lol what exactly are you implying?
So good, I can't wait until every Wednesday! Season finale next week. The whole season has been very good. Every episode is a homage to horror movies.
Yasss I can't wait! I love that it's on Wednesdays with Dead of Summer, I'm thinking that will be my new horror night @celesticaii
You because you know other parts of the story, tagged you as it was relevant to our other conversation... *shrug*
Ooh I thought Neflix Scream was pretty good first season. Predictable but intriguing. I'll start watching once the finale is out... I have a binging problem. Lights Out verdict - A refreshing take on horror films. They actually have half a brain which is nice.
