It's really hard :( Any dog training experts want to help me out?
The problem is my dog is super smart but also extremely lazy. She knows sit, lay and paw but she'll only do them if she knows I have treats for her. And usually she gets so excited she just starts punching me repeatedly until I give her the treat. She's around 11 years old, can she even learn new tricks at this age?
I've actually never trained a dog before so I have no idea what I'm doing :imslow:

My dog is super stubborn, she knows the basics, but only agrees to do them if there’s some reward involved

She’s good with sit, shake a paw and other paw, high 5, down low, lay down, she’ll give kisses on command, and she’ll wait for permission to eat. If I tell her to go inside she’ll run in to her kennel and sit down.

She won’t lay down on command unless she’s on a couch or bed

Trick with her is to catch her doing something, praise it with the associated word, and give her a treat, a few times is all it takes and it becomes an understood behaviour.

Not straight up, but try the entrapment method, when she does something that you like, assign a command, reward

Dogs learn well at any age :)

How are you gonna teach the dog tricks when you can't do them?

Okay, get your dog in the position seen in the image below. Step forward with your left foot, forward with your right foot, forward with your left foot, right with your right foot, then together with your left foot. Continue the five basic steps for as long as you want to dance! If you’re following, step backward with your right foot, backward with your left foot, backward with your right foot, to the left with your left foot, then together with your right foot. Repeat until the partner leading stops. Both partners should follow the slow, slow, quick, quick, slow tempo.

I just managed to trim Kaia’s nails without getting maimed. Few scratches, but she did well

It’s a trick to get a hyper pug to hold still long enough to get nails trimmed

It really doesn’t. Hopefully your dog is trained well enough you can trim nails without getting maimed
