You are going to be accused of being prejudiced against those who subscribe to authority-based reasoning, meaning that if an authority figure tells you something is so, then you believe that it is so, lol. And a lot of people seem to do that with science and history and other subjects because they didn't actually go look at the evidence themselves and don't have the expertise to make conclusions themselves, lol.
Anyone accusing him of prejudice would be playing the victim card. Why listen to "authorities" why not go and look at the evidence first before coming to a conclusion? What's with having "authority figures" anyways? They're only men, and while some men can be wise these guys are mostly just storytellers. With science and history we get facts and dates, not theories and ideas to put faith in. “Faith is the assured expectation of things hoped for, the evident demonstration of realities though not beheld.”—Hebrews 11:1. With science there is no faith there is black and white truth and non truth through testing ideas and by knowledge. It's a whole different ball game.
That is historically incorrect Nero wasn’t even in Rome when the fires started, but he hurried back home and opened up a large portion of his castle to injured and homeless people. I mean, Nero was an asshat, but a lot of the stories about him are just propaganda
An appeal to authority leads to a logical fallacy. Fallacious reasoning should always be avoided, if we care about whether what we believe is true or not. Suppose Dr. Witten publishes a quantum theory of gravity next week. I am in no position to evaluate his work, but I do trust that the process of peer review will eventually determine whether the work is valid or not.
I already have my dream job, lol. Just blah, blah, blah for like forty-five minutes and flirt with cute guys, lol.
4 years seems to be about as long as I can go in one career before I feel the need to jump ship and learn something new.
Venture Capitalist... founder and CEO of a home building company that caters to a very specific niche, which I won’t mention here run a no-kill dog sanctuary...
My dream job at this point in my life is just one that makes more money, has normal hours, room for growth and development/isn't just a dead end, that's local and keeps me engaged. Beyond that I don't care too much about exactly what it involves. I just want something that'll let me get ahead and pursue what I want financially and otherwise.
I want to do tech support for senior citizens, because they’re either super sweet and genuinely need help, or bitter and crusty and just funny. Downside you have to get new clients frequently because they die a lot. But if you make them happy enough and they’re lonely, they might leave you things in appreciation too (not targeting wealthy though, just can afford to pay their bills). Also open to doing occasional pro bono work to help them get online so they can troll forums
oh, damn that's dark fam, but also totally fuckin' true...damn olds, dying every 30 seconds... why can't they just live for 5 more seconds to delete their browser history just in case they don't want little 10 year old Jeremiah to stumble upon Grandpa's big black shlong in grannys hole cuckold search in the Google and scar him for life? Oh wait, they can't because they dunno how to do that, **** Anyways; I'm not sure what I wanna do; I'm good with computers mostly; I was working in a local PC/Mobile Device Repair Place in the summer briefly, before I moved to where I am now, but it didn't last long (hence briefly). Lasted a month, a whole 30 days or so, legit. If you wanna know the horror story about that, feel free to quote me or whatever lol
My first thought when watching those was "Wtf? That was a perfectly good cake. I could've been eating that.."
