Yeah, they do. They just don't bond on an emotional, base level. They bond on a mental, rational level. They love the person because they use reason to arrive at that conclusion, instead of being driven to it by emotions.

 

And they'll only maintain that bond so long as it directly benefits them. They're still being manipulative in one way or another. Manipulation is one of the very trademarks of being a psychopath. Go ahead and bond with one and then see how long they keep you when you're no longer useful to them for one reason or another.

 

They just have a reputation for being manipulative. They are not all manipulative. For instance, they will love someone because they admire their character and virtues.
