    That's awesome!

I actually have quite fond memories of my Pastor. She was warm, compassionate, and a great story teller. Very grandmotherly.

It does have a few legitimate points, but it’s more bullshit and fear mongering than anything

If you need a threat over your head to be civilized, you might be an idiot and/or a menace :imslow:

I have no issues with religious people, just like I don’t have anything against cancer patients.

And people who are genuinely terrible people behaving because they’re afraid of the consequences seems worthwhile too, although most of them are still awful anyways

No. It wasn't The Bible that did that. It was your pride and your self-centeredness. If you read The Bible while holding on to a "I'm the master of my own life" mentality, then yes, you'll become an atheist before even finishing it.

    http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Extortion

"The obtaining of property from another induced by wrongful use of actual or threatened force, violence, or fear, or under color of official right."

"The God who made the world and everything in it is the LORD of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. 25And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else." (Acts 17:24-25)

Yes, the God Who made everything desires to take your property and / or your money by threatening you with violence...

The topic of last weeks sermon at my Church was that Salvation was the most important thing in everybody's life and that God wants everybody to have it. If God wants everybody to have it, then why doesn't He give us tangible proof that He exists because that will convince a ton of non-believers to believe?

Did you know that it is theorized that Charles Lindbergh accidentally killed his child? When it was all said and done, Bruno H. was fried to death for it. :shifty:
